Western Hemisphere (Americas) Half-Hourly Fire Update (GOES Satellite)
The Experimental Wildfire ABBA Fire Product
The Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS), University of Wisconsin, Madison, GOES Biomass Burning Monitoring Program, provides the experimental Wildfire Automated Biomass Burning Algorithm (WFABBA) that is currently generating half-hourly fire data for the Western Hemisphere. The geostationary NOAA weather satellite GOES-8 provides coverage for North and South America while GOES-10 covers North America only. Detailed information on WFABBA and links to the GOES-8 ABBA Preliminary Fire products and Imagery is found at: http://cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/goes/burn/abba.html
