Argentina: Combustion Risk Index and Convectivity Index

The National Meteorological Service, Argentina Air Force, provides two indices that are updated daily at 18:00 UTC.

The

http://www.smn.gov.ar/?mod=dpd&id=4

 determines the meteorological conditions that influence the initiation and propagation of wildland fires. The required meteorological data (temperature, relative humidity, wind and precipitation at 18:00 UTC) are collected by a synoptic network of stations. Five risk classes are provided:

bajo = low (green)
moderado = moderate (yellow)
alto = high (orange)
muy alto = very high (red)
extremo = extreme (brown)

For the use of the information some legal restrictions have to be observed. Details are provided in: http://www.meteofa.mil.ar/htms/legales.htm
