Rationale and
Introduction
The
aim of NEPAD is to promote accelerated growth and sustainable
development, to eradicate widespread and severe poverty and to halt the
marginalisation of Africa in the globalisation process.
Therefor it has been recognised that a healthy and productive
environment is a prerequisite for the New Partnership for Africa’s
Development.
Afrifirenet is a contribution to the NEPAD environmental
programme.
